As an innovative and dynamic company Mecc Alte is proud to be the largest independent producer of industrial synchronous generators, with the widest low voltage alternator selection ranging from 1 to 3000 kVA

Mecc Alte Company was founded by Mario Carraro and Mr Cavaliere. Began Manufacture of Motors in Alte, then a small village near Vicenza, Italy original name derived from the owners initials and the companies location.

1947 Onwards

1954- The first synchronous alternator was produced
1957-The Carraro family became sole owner-and remains so
1972-Decision made to specialise in 2 and 4 pole alternators
1978-Business moved to new premises in Creazzo, Vicenza
1982-Began development of overseas distribution subsidiaries
1987-First alternators above 650Kva
1988-Established Zanardi to make specialist products and welders based in Legnago, Italy
1994-Purchased Eurogen-Two pole competitor based in Soave, Italy
1997-Established UK product manufacture in Oakham, UK
2002-Launched first alternators at 2.5MVA
2004-Launched Digital AVR
2006-Revenue exceeds ÃƒÂ‚Ã‚Â¬110 million euros
2006-Purchased VECO- Lamination manufacturer
2007- MAHL (China) started operation
2008-Digital AVR becomes a standard
2010-MAIL (India) started operation.

In the 70's the decision to specialize in 2 & 4 pole alternators taken and business was moved to new premises Creazzo, Vicenza which eventually became company HQ. The next decade saw further development for overseas distribution manufacturing of larger rating and establishment of Zanardi for welding Alternators and the company grew further as elaborated above.

All this gives over 60 years of experience in producing and developing Synchronous Alternators. Today Mecc Alte employees over 600 people, has a turnover of 110 million Euros.

The factory premises is at Sanaswadi, near Pune, this 10 acres was acquired on 4th March 2009 and the construction started on 27th march 209 on the occasion of Gudi Padwa and formally Inaugurated on 25th April 2010. Commercial production has started for Alternators from 5kVA to 70kVA since April 1st 2010.
